Rob Clay Rivers is a Cambridge PhD student who wants to raise money for mission work in Peru. He's going to work with the British organisation Latin Link next year. The race It's taking place on Friday 28th July in Cambridge. The idea is you buy a rubber duck for £3.00. At 7.00pm the ducks will be released from Jesus Lock. The race ends at Victoria Bridge with the owner of the winning duck receiving £50.00. It's one of a number of events organised by Rob to help him reach his total of £7,000 to support his mission work in Peru. Latin Link

The Christian charity sends people to work with Latin American churches in a variety of ways. They include helping with street children, helping with rural development and generating jobs for the unemployed. How to take part Well, you can buy the rubber ducks in Market Square on weekend 22nd and 23rd July. You can also buy them on the day of the race. So why not go along on Friday 28th July and enjoy the spectacle of lots of little, bright yellow rubber ducks bobbing along the River Cam! |
