So, they felt the need for another knees-up… and who wouldn't, with a redesigned web site and another cd to launch? Cambridgebands.com and Hope Street are very much at the hub of the Cambridge music scene promoting and providing a platform for new and emerging talent and are so chuffed about their recent triumphs that they decided to host another party. “I can’t believe a year has gone so quickly. So much has happened in that time for the music scene; new venues, new bands, new radio programmes; it is all spreading nicely. I am very excited about this gig because the line-up is totally different with several of the bands playing not existing this time last year. The Living Room is taking place upstairs again with Lord Bridge residing over proceedings. The living room live CD is looking beautiful. It has taken a lot of work but myself and the team are well chuffed with it. Like last year the idea is to showcase the music of wonderful musicians from Cambridge. There are a few non-Cambridge artists on the CD because they have either gained a Cambridge following or their songs were too good not to put on and let the public miss out! The CD is also planned for iTunes and a few local retailers.” Said a well-chuffed Phil Pethybridge, one of the founders of Hope Street Music. Here's what the line-up looks like... THE MAIN STAGE CambridgeBands.com Showcase... The Shivers A scruffy looking trio big on an acoustic sound that smacks of The Stones with the added twang of Nirvana thrown in for good measure. Going lots of places and generating lots of interest…The Cambridge Folk Festival already beckons... New World Record

Ten Second Window Somewhere between Muse and The Queens Of The Stoneage you can find Ten Second Window - big sound, big imagination. Badwell Ash Badwell Ash over the last two years have made a lot of noise and received a lot of praise. A band who’s members at only 17 years old are reputed to be producing songs far beyond their years. General Lee If ac/dc and the White Stripes got together in a drug-fuelled orgy, this would be their offspring's band. UPSTAIRS Living Room Line-up... Flipron Quirky, surreal, funny - Flipron have a Victoriania sound with a contemporary twist. Paul Goodwin Paul's been on the Cambridge music scene for years – an astounding and modest talent that picks up where Nick Drake left off. Ross Martyn Ross sings beautiful ballads laced with dark humour – he has a wide vocal range and is a prolific songwriter. James Chadwick Soloist who plays, hums, strums and banters with the audience in between ballads of love and lust. Finalist in 2005's BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards and featured on Mike Harding's Radio 2 folk programme in December 2005. So, there you have it. Not one, but two rooms full of sound and would-be stars (not to mention the shady looking record company boys basking in the background). Party on...
