The
Junction is definitely going to be the place to go for youth.
The place has had funky new furniture and lighting put in.
Colours vary throughout the whole building but yellows, purples
and reds seem to be the main colours.
Mirrors and stainless steel sides give the place a real modern
feel. The main hall has had all round air conditioning and
futuristic lights have been put up. The bar has been made
bigger, and is very welcoming with leather sofas around it.
The toilets are great with male and female stickmen on the
front doors. I didn’t actually go in the men’s toilets
but the female's has one big toilet so that the girls can
have that all important chat. The sinks in the toilets are
all very modern as well as the funky taps.
There isn’t just one bar, there is another one upstairs,
and also a seating area for quiet time. Braille has been put
up, as well as a lift for the disabled and lower tables and
bars so that disabled people are at the same height. This
means that anyone can come to the Junction.
The place looks really lush and has really encouraged me to
go visit there more often. The Junction is on Cambridge Leisure
Development which consists of Pizza Hut and the new bowling
alley and Cineworld. The area is a really nice place to go,
and after having a meal at Pizza Hut and watching a film at
Cineworld you can head of to the Junction for a great evening
of entertainment.
The Thursday evening (19th August) was the Junction re–opening
party. It was really cool, and with free food and drink, and
a great DJ and band playing - the atmosphere was fantastic.
I definitely got a feel for what the refurbished Junction's
events are going to be like. For all youth out there, this
is truly the venue to check out.
Also, by February 2005, the Junction will have developed and
made itself a lot bigger. The Junction will be divided by
the music section, which is the Junction at the moment, to
the drama and dance section. The Junction has a wide variety
of events and with its new modern look is truly worth attending.
