So far, the authorities do not intervene the movement of monks. Monks began their peaceful march since 18 September 2007.

Monks made three hour march in central Rangoon, 18 September 2007. This is the first of its kind in nearly two decades in Burma.

Monks went to Sule pagoda but they were barred by authorities. Unlike earlier protests, the authorities and military supporters did not intervene.

Monks went to Bo-ta-htaung pagoda and chanted on the street. Hundreds of people gathered around the monks.

The prayers ended peacefully and then the monks returned to their monasteries.

An elderly lady showed her respect but school teachers did not show their support openly.

Thousands of people followed the monks throughout the march in Rangoon and other towns in Burma.
