TP Burmese students celebrates Thin-gyan in Singapore
Burmese students of Temasek Polytechnic host Thingyan Festival Variety Show in which they perform jokes which reflect day-to-day lives of Burmese people.

They cleverly joke about politics and economic situation which would not have been allowed inside the country.

Long running National convention, massage parlours and nepotism among officials are some of the topics they joke on Burma.

We, students are honest and we are just telling the truth. Whom should we be afraid of?

A Burmese student at TP Singapore says on the BBC Burmese radio, "We, students are honest and we are just telling the truth. Whom should we be afraid of?"

There are about 200 Burmese students currently studying at the Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore.

Burmese students have been celebrating Thingyan in such a great style that they organise a big variety show every year since 1999, except in 2003 due to outbreak of SARS.
