A number of demonstrators in Burma's main city, Rangoon, are reported to have been injured as security forces used baton charges and tear gas to try to break up anti-government protests now in their ninth day.
Witnesses say they saw the shaved heads of Buddhist monks who were wounded covered in blood.
British embassy sources say at least a hundred monks were beaten and arrested during clashes around the Shwedagon pagoda, the city's most revered Buddhist shrine.
Witnesses say that in at least one incident, soldiers fired warning shots over the demonstrators' heads, sending crowds running for cover.
It's unclear if the protests are still continuing.
Six big monasteries in Rangoon are reported to have been surrounded by soldiers to prevent more monks defying the military and joining the protests.

Of course there is a peaceful way out. If we look back the peaceful transition that occured in East Berlin & Indonesia the
role of army was proved to be very important. So if we have a way to educate the army and it's generals of the military junta
this will be the sure peaceful way out. But the question is how do we educate these people. One posibble mean I see is the
media through BBC, VOA & RFA to put a special program that target to this people. I didnt mean the program that is putting
the blame on them. The process of education has the broad sense of aiming the change in the behaviour.

The people should not give up hope and should step up because their amount of number is bigger then the military and the government.
One of them should step up soon because by the time they do, there's going to be no Burma left. The government has no right
to close the monasteries which is based on the religion that all burmese people believe.

Burma is in vital situation now!The heartless government has been shooting and beating innocent Burma citizens for days. Citizens
just voice out their difficulties by peaceful walking in the streets. There is no way should the Burma government take such
cruel action. Yet, there is still no proper action taken on it. I wonder where the justice is! Please! Please do something
before more innocent people get killed.

At this point now i don't see any way of peaceful way out for both parties. In histry there is no evidents of negotiations
& peaceful manner by Military army on matters. Now possible solution is UN security council intervence with positive approach.

As everyone knows that burmese government can do every thing he wants by crcking down and killing monks and people who are
protesting. If eye withness has been that much, there are so many disgusting things that the governmrnt is executing behind
sence. In this situation I was surprised that china ans russia are still blocking the way for burmese people to live in peaceful
manner. That's too bad. It is such a shame for International community and asean to just look what the government is doing
non sense things towards his own people.
