Help
Look out for these yellow banners. They usually appear at either the top or the bottom of the page, and usually contain important information or links.
We have tried to make getting around BBC Bristol Online really easy. There are a few navigation aids that appear on every page.

Two of them help you to get around, the other tells you where you are in the site.

Which is which?


Navigation
On the left hand side of every page is the main menu you use to get around BBC Bristol Online. You will notice that it is the same as the rest of BBC Online, so hopefully you will be familiar with it.

If you are not, then don't panic! It is really easy.

At the top of the menu you will see BBC Homepage, which is a link to the main BBC Online homepage.

If you clicked this, you would go all the way back to www.bbc.co.uk. Below that is England - the category BBC Bristol Online is part of. Click this and you go to the England homepage.

If you do this (press back to return to this page) you will notice that England is highlighted, and Bristol appears below it. Bristol is highlighted when you are in our site to remind you where you are within BBC Online.

Below that are all of the options within BBC Bristol Online, such as news, sport, Downs football, audio/video. As you can see, there is plenty in the site.

You will also find links to the rest of BBC Bristol Online at the foot of every page, so when you have read a story you don't have to go all the way back up to the top to get to another page.

How do I tell where I am inside BBC Bristol Online?


If you look at the top of any of our pages, you will see this blue and yellow bar.

On all of our other pages it tells you where you are within BBC Bristol Online.

You can also click on the text here to take you to the homepages of these separate sections. So, if you click the banner at the top of this page, you can get back to the interactive section.

Keep an eye on the right hand side as well. Here you will see ideas and suggestions of other places you might like to visit, both inside and outside our site.

Within stories you will see links to audio and video, archive stories and external websites.

On section homepages you will also see suggestions for other areas in BBC Bristol Online you might like to visit.

At the bottom of all our pages, there are helpful links to get you around the site and also to the top of the current page.

The one last thing to look out for on this side of our pages is the audio and video icons. If you see these it means the story has multimedia content too, so you can listen to the interviews, and watch reports from Points West.
