So
when I left school in Cornwall I worked in insurance for a
year whilst waiting to begin a career in Customs and Excise.
But
one day I saw a job advertisement for the Met Office and very
soon after, found myself working at RAF Lyneham.
I
spent three years working in the county before other postings
at other stations across Southern England followed.
After
a good deal of studying to HNC level I was accepted on a forecasting
course and a posting to Bristol followed back in 1990. I have
been here ever since.
After
13 years forecasting for the city I now feel I have just about
got the measure of the county weatherwise.
So
whether it is appearing on BBC Points West each evening, or
on the BBC Bristol website I hope to keep everyone up-to-date
with all the latest weather news.
When
the BBC does let me have time away from my weather charts
I do enjoy travelling, having been to the USA, Egypt, Indonesia
and Vietnam in the last few years.
I
still walk around the county with my dalmatian, Poppy, during
the drier months. And when snow is in the air I can usually
be found waxing my skis and planning a trip to the Alps.
