The Trooper AFC Started up by the workers of the Western Daily Press in the 1970's.

The team then went on to become known as the Worlds End before transferring to The Shant.

The current Trooper side was started as the Shant Reserve Team some 11 years ago.

Current players Still playing at the club are Ian Salter(now Player/Manager), Mark Willmott, Dean Hawkins and John Price.

The Shant Reserves then became the Red lion and now has Been The Trooper for the last three years.

Having Started out as the Shant Reserves in division six of the Bristol Sunday league we have progressed through the leagues winning one championship, runners up once and several promotions.

Now in the Senior Division of the Bristol Regional League Senior division.

Finishing joint third last season, we will be looking to go one better this season and gain promotion to the premier division. Home Ground Dundrige Lane Playing Fields.
