The Lions folded in ’96 and were reformed as the Clifton Wood Corinthians in the same year.

The Corinthians competed very successfully in the Commercial League until its demise last year and will be joining the Fourth division of the Regional this season.

Clifton Wood must be one of the most experienced clubs in all six divisions, boasting five FA qualified coaches and a host of ex professionals.

Dave McGibbon and Terry Walters are both ‘A’ grade coaches and work at Bristol City’s highly successful youth academy.

The downside to the clubs experience is the overall age of the squad, their youngest player being 34.

Despite this it is unlikely that any team in the league will have as much fun or play the game in as good a spirit as Clifton Wood this season.

Their Manager David Michalis enthuses, "We all want to win but we are here to enjoy ourselves and have a laugh and a joke. We really are a great bunch of lads."
