Ever
since the club was formed only employees of the company were
allowed to play.
However the rule has been slightly relaxed in the last few season
as it has been difficult to field a full Sunday side.
AxA Sunday play their home matches at the AxA Sports Ground
in Henbury and many teams agree it is one of the best ground
in local football.
Our grounds man recently received an award for the best playing
field and facilities in the whole of the South West.
Last season, the club finished ninth out of ten and during the
last couple of seasons have only just managed to stay in the
Premier Division.
The club's main strength is going forward and we average two
goals a game. Our weakness is conceding goals.
However, win or lose we always have a laugh in the bar after
the game.
The current manager is Alex Mills and he has been at the helm
for the last three seasons. Off the field I am the club secretary
and will retire from my duties at the end of the season.
The club is looking forward to a new season with the hope that
we can survive relegation once again. |
