Circus skills demo launches summer play scheme
Up to 50 young people will be at Southmead Adventure Playground, Doncaster Road on 22 June for the launch of their 13th summer activity programme.

And youngsters still have time to say what other activities they'd like to get involved in over the summer holiday.
Young people can vote on what activities they would like included
The annual summer programme has been organised by the Southmead Kids Activity Team (SKAT).

SKAT is a partnership of 11 organisations working to support young people in the area and includes Bristol City Council, Connexions and Working in Southmead for Health.

Each of them will be running their own programme and there will be extra Southmead-wide activities.

Activities already planned include: summer camps; football; golf; music workshops; extreme sports; day trips and circus skills.

The launch starts at 5pm on 22 June, and includes a performance by young people from Circomedia who will be putting on a display of their circus skills.

A special leaflet describing all the activities is available in local schools, as well as at the Adventure Playground, Southmead Youth Centre, Greenway Centre, Scouts, Connexions, Circomedia, Southmead Library, the Better Together Project, and Southmead House.

Young people will be able to use the leaflet to vote on the extra activities they want to see included in the summer programme.

To take advantage of what's on offer, young people need to register at Southmead Library on Saturday, July 3, between 10am. and 12 noon.
