Your chance to dress up for the day!
Points West presenters dressed up

Friday 2 July is wrong trousers day your chance to dress up in fancy flares or anything else that takes your fancy! It's an opportunity to raise some money and have fun at the same time.

The appeal started in 1997 as a fund-raising project to collect money for Bristol Children's Hospital.

Chris Vacher, Sally Challoner and David Garmston from Points West join in the fun.
One of the first events involved members of the Australian and Gloucestershire cricket teams doing their warm-up practice at the County Ground wearing the wrong trousers.

In 1998 a giant pair of trousers - last seen on the Cerne Abbas Giant in Dorset - was hoisted on a crane outside Bristol Temple Meads railway station.

And in 1999 Staff nurse Sharon Nicholson, from the Bristol Royal Infirmary was fitted with the ultimate made-to-wear trousers, by friends in the hospital's plaster room.

This year organisers hope everyone taking part will donate £1 to the appeal.

We have some special Wallace and Gromit giveaways this year.

Four lucky winners will get a prize pack consisting of a book, video, mouse mat and salt and pepper shaker set.

And one lucky winner will receive all of the above items plus a soft toy Gromit.

This competition is now closed.

Where was the previous children's hospital in Bristol?

Was it:

(a) Opposite Southmead Hospital
(b) Adjacent to Bristol Royal Infirmary
(c) Opposite Bristol Maternity Hospital
(d) In the grounds of Frenchay Hospital
(e) On the same site as the Bristol Dental Hospital

Closing date is 12 noon on 2 July 2004.

The answer was (c) Opposite Bristol Maternity Hospital
Thanks to everyone that entered.
