His
entry, Stripping Down, has been created using an image from
an old DIY manual which has been photocopied, enlarged (to
11ft by 10ft) and redrawn using anti-slip tape (used to give
shiny floors more grip).
It
will be exhibited along with the other finalists' work from
1 May to 31 May at the Tea Building in Shoreditch High Street,
London E1.
"I
liked the idea of blowing up the original image from a DIY
manual as it removes it out of its original context,"
said Will, a part-time lecturer at Swindon College.
"I
used the anti-slip tape as it has a sandpaper-like surface
which has a wonderful, tactile quality. It also works well
with the original image which started out as a functional
diagram."

If
he wins, Will says he will use the prize money to travel to
New York to gain inspiration for further works.
This
year's entries include a broad range of mediums including
pencil on paper, painting, wall drawings, film, art installation,
photography and new media.
The
finalists' submissions were chosen by leading figures of British
art including broadcaster and art historian Tim Marlow who
chairs the selection panel.
The
overall winner will be announced at the private view at the
gallery on the evening of Tuesday 4 May.
