The
dark and sinister side of water conservation is the theme of
an award- winning show coming to Bristol.

| Just
when you thought it was safe to go back in the water ....Drip! |

Parisian
theatre group Attic People brings Drip to the Old Vic Basement
at the end of May, as part of the theatre's Mayfest season.
The show is a darkly comic look at a community battling against
an outsider who refuses to obey the rules.
It is set in Cracker Valley at the time of the Annual Friendly
Water Conservation Contest - where first prize is your picture
in the paper with the Mayor.
An eccentric chorus of spying neighbours; including a knife-wielding
granny, ugly romantic, selfish potbellied socialist, philosophical
pub rat, and a dilapidated sexpot, are determined to win.

| Water
conservation can be a scary business |
But
their water-crimping efforts are foiled by their new neighbour
Ben, who spends hours in the bathtub dreaming about the German
girl next door.
The deeper Ben withdraws into his aquatic fantasy world, the
more the becomes an obstacle to be removed at all costs.
Topsy-turvy
The international ensemble of seven draws its audience into
this topsy-turvy world through imaginative physical play, a
cacophony of sounds and cartoonish storytelling.
Here body odour is a virtue, cleanliness a deadly sin and love
a forbidden fruit.
Drip, which won awards at last year's Edinburgh Fringe, can
be seen at the Old Vic Basement on 27th and 28th May at 12.30pm
and 9.30pm.
Meanwhile the theatre's Mayfest season continues with the circus
skills of the Miren Circus Theatre Co (19th and 20th), the high-
tech media of News From Nowhere (22nd and 23rd) experimental
works by Hermann's Magic Theatre (29th) and Taylan Halici Go
Home (30th) and finishes with A Physical Theatre Cabaret on
Saturday 31st May.
