One of the city's longest-running community sites is Jezza's Guide
to Bristol.
Set up in 1998,
it is a goldmine of information about the city, ranging from the
docks to theatre and music, and even great places to take walks
outside the city.
The site has
been put together by Jeremy McNeill, who as well as being (according
to his resume!) a thespian, has also written about Bristol's harbourside.

Jezza's book,
Bristol's Harbourside - A Guide to the City Docks, is even available
on Amazon.
The site is
nicely sectioned up, with links to a whole manner of useful resources.
The information
about the harbourside is extremely extensive.
There is a whole
interactive harbourside map, where you can mouse over and click
to get more information.
You can read
a whole section of views, facts and information about the new Canon's
Marsh project.
Jezza has even
linked to BBC Bristol's new harbourside mini-site, so he's in our
good books!
Stomping
I particularly
liked the 'Great Places for a Walk' section, only because the Cotswolds
(my stomping ground!) is included.
Finally, there's
an in-depth section on Bristol's involvement in the slave trade.
There are links
to some very good resources if you want to read up part of Bristol's
worst historical moments.
This is a good site - I often find myself here rooting around for
things to read.
If you have a spare hour, take a look. It will be an educating read,
I guarantee it.
