There
is a new record label launching in Bristol called Subtext,
pushing an underground sound generally referred to as
'dubstep'.
The
style is fresh - so much so that until now it has not
really travelled far outside of the insular London scene
where it was initially born.

Nights such as Forward have been a Mecca for dubsteppers over
the last few years but you've always had to travel to the
smoke for it.
Bristol is now set to be the next outpost for this progressive
sound, with the establishment of Subtext as a label and also
a regular monthly Sunday night at Cosies.
The
first night kicks off on June 20: representing the dubstep
flavour in full effect.
SUB001
features two killer cuts by the underground duo, Vex'd - 'Pop
Pop' and 'Canyon', which will be available from Rooted Records
on Gloucester Rd, and all good independent record shops from
June 28.
