A Midsummer Night's cruise

All aboard for a night of Balearic beats and alternative sounds.

To celebrate midsummer in true hedonistic style, 'You and Me' is on mission to capture the spirit of the Summer of ’88 over two events on Saturday 19 June.

Forget Ibiza's Cafe del Mar, this three hour cruise up the Avon canal promises to be backdropped with the best music designed for a sunset.

The evening will begin aboard the Tower Belle boat, departing Bristol’s historic waterfront at 6.30pm.

Laid back beats in Timbuk 2s lounge

Balearic beats will be supplied by Nick Harris, with guests.

Returning to the waterfront by 10pm, the midsummer celebrations reconvene indoors to the underground cavern styled Timbuk 2 on Small Street.

A night of acid house grooves, jackin’ tech.funk and deep house is promised, with special guest from London’s legendary Space nights, Kenny Hawkes.

Kenny Hawkes is no stranger to the Bristol crowds; late last year he played a blinder of a set at NRK’s Xmas party at Level (alongside Rolando).

Win CDs

Mr Hawkes has DJd the world over and also cuts it in the studio, with releases for Derrick Carter’s MFF and Classic Recs and remixes of Inner City, Ralph Falcon and more.

Kenny Hawkes will be joined by Nick Harris and Ben Parker in the main room with James B and Matt Anniss (Best Before:) providing laid back beats in the Timbuk 2 lounge.

TICKETS HAVE ALL SOLD OUT AS OF 15/06/04

Boat tickets, which include free & guaranteed entrance to Timbuk 2, cost £15.

Tickets are available from Replay Records and Bristol Ticket Shop. Limited entrance to Timbuk 2 alone will be £7.

We're feeling generous - it must be all the lovely sunny days we've been enjoying recently - so take advantage and grab yourself four CDs of chilled cuts, strings and Balearic beats and listen in the wee small hours with people you've just met but feel you've known all your life.
