Limahl shows he's not too shy, shy
Limahl at 'Relax'

Now in my mind the eighties are a wonderful period - lots of colourful music, boppy beats and crazy hairstyles.

So Saturday's new 'Relax' 80's night at Bristol Academy (formerly Rock) was no disappointment.

The club had been suitably done with large period posters branding big slogans just like the good ol' days, and even large screens showing cult pop videos.

It was packed and a few of the more adventurous managed to dress in mood.

On stage were two eighties dancers complete with fishnet tights, leg warmers, short skirts and shinny tops, accompanied by the DJ wearing a Limahl from Kajagoogoo wig in wide anticipation of the man himself guest appearing later.

And when he did actually come on stage it was kinda weird.

You could tell it was definitely him but gone was the long spiky hair (not surprisingly) and in was a luminous all-in-one jump suit!

Let's just say the crowd closest to the stage decided to give him a little bit of stick about his appearance - but then I suppose he is used to this by now.

All in all it was a top night and a great atmosphere. But time will tell if a venue this size playing 80's music will be remain packed every Saturday.
