BBC Points West will be at Butlins
Children in Need 2008
We raised over £905,000 in the region last year. Read on to find out how BBC Children in Need's Pudsey Bear is joining forces with Butlin's mascot Billy Bear to raise money and break a world record.
BBC Points West will be broadcasting live on Friday 14th November in aid of BBC Children in Need from Butlins' Minehead Resort.
During the live broadcast of the 2008 appeal on BBC One, Butlins’ Redcoats and guests will be invited to take part in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the 'largest pillow fight'.
BBC Children in Need’s Pudsey Bear and Butlins very own mascot Billy Bear, along with thousands of guests holidaying in Somerset for the Party in the Pavilion weekend, will aim to smash the current record set by 3,648 participants at the University at Albany, New York, USA on 17 April 2005 live on national television.
Children from local schools and people from Minehead organizations are also being invited to come on Resort for the evening and take part in the challenge.
Emma Bradley, External Affairs Director from BBC Children in Need said: "We’re delighted that Butlins are hosting the BBC Children in Need fundraising event for the South West."
"Pudsey is already limbering up! We wish everyone involved the very best of luck in making this a very successful night and in raising a lot of money for disadvantaged children."
