Balloon Fiesta: Travelling to the event

If you are going to the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta this weekend here is a guide to the best ways to the event, parking and pedestrian access.

Parking

Car parking facilities have changed from previous years so make sure you visit the Balloon Fiesta official site before you travel.

The red entrance is via Longwood Lane and yellow is next to the Dovecote pub.

The fiesta bus drop-off point is at Kennel Lodge while bicycle parking is at the back of the Mansion House.

Walking

If you're visiting the event on foot you can get in at Kennel Lodge and Clifton Lodge.

Bus

A dedicated bus service will run from Bristol Temple Meads railway station, via the city centre, to the event.

A second service will run from Blackboy Hill via Hotwells.

Both will drop off at Kennel Lodge, full timetables are on the fiesta's official website.

Clifton Suspension Bridge closures

On both Thursday and Saturday the Clifton Suspension Bridge will close to call traffic from 6pm.

On Friday, the bridge will remain closed to vehicles until 6am (although you can walk over it from 2am) because contractors will be carrying out work. On Sunday, the bridge will reopen at 2am to all traffic.

The closure is for all traffic, both vehicles and pedestrians, and are at the same time as both night glows.
