You can find out more about Hinduism and what goes on in the temple by going on our tour. The Bristol Hindu Temple, otherwise known as Sanatan Deevya |Mandal, was founded in 1979 by members of the Hindu community who had fled Uganda in the early 1970s. The temple has a full-time pandit - or priest - who cares for the deities and leads worship. It's normally open in the morning for prayer and contemplation between 8.30am and 10.30am - and in the evening between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
