Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz (Imagenet)
Hot Fuzz was filmed in the West Country

Watch: Simon Pegg interview

Shaun of the Dead actor Simon Pegg, who is currently featuring in cop flick Hot Fuzz, popped into Richard Lewis's programme on BBC Radio Bristol for a chat.

The comedy actor spoke to Richard Lewis about the gore-laden comedy which was filmed locally in Wells.

Pegg stars as top London cop Nicholas Angel, who is transferred to a sleepy Somerset village by his jealous colleagues.

It is supposed to be an easy job, but pretty soon he is up to his helmet in murder.

Pegg has plenty of connections to this part of the UK having gone to Bristol University where he got a degree in Theatre, Film and Television.

His co-star, Nick Frost, who plays Danny even wears a Bristol Rovers shirt in one scene of the film.

You can watch Simon's interview with Richard here on the BBC Bristol website. Alongside Simon is his co-star in the film, Nick Frost.
