HMS Ledbury will be open to the public

Royal Navy ships moor in Bristol

Two Royal Navy ships visit Bristol's waterfront as part of the city's Abolition 200 commemorations.

Portsmouth-based mine countermeasures vessels, HMS Ledbury and HMS Cattistock, will be moored in the city docks on two separate visits.

HMS Ledbury came to the city and moored near the Arnolfini in February and was open to visitors for two days.

The Commanding Officer of HMS Ledbury, Lieutenant Commander Paul Russell said: "HMS Ledbury is visiting Bristol as part of many events in the city this year commemorating the bicentenary of the abolition of slavery act.

"We are happy to show the Royal Navy is still committed to the principles of this act as part of our global commitments and wider humanitarian work."

HMS Cattistock will be in the city harbour from 14-19 March and will be open to the public from 1.30-5pm on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March.
