Bradley Stoke being built
The first bricks were put down in 1987

Bradley Stoke: 1988 archive documentary

Bradley Stoke is 20 years old and is home to more than 20,000 people between the M4 and M5 motorways.

The first bricks for the huge development were put down in 1987 - it now has 8,000 homes and seven schools.

But how did it all start? We've delved into the archives to bring you a BBC documentary from 1988.

Points West's Chris Vacher presented a special West on Two programme looking at the town.

You can watch the full 30 minutes and find out about life in the town during its first year.
