Light entertainment on College Green

College Green will be illuminated with 400ft-wide images later this month. Light Up Bristol will see a free festive light show with a difference projected on to the Council House.

The huge images will be projected on the building

The show will use seven high-powered projectors to throw vibrant festive pictures, patterns, textures and colours on to the building from 6pm - 10pm on 18 and 19 December.

It is being staged by Bristol Media - a networking and support organisation for people involved in the city's creative industries - including animation, digital, marketing, design, film and television.

Eight different sets of images have been created, by digital designers including some from Aardman.

To see the whole display, which will be shown in rotation, only takes 10 minutes, so you don't need to worry about standing out in the cold too long.

On Monday, December 18 from 6.15pm to 8.15pm there will be music by DJ Beat Roots to accompany the light show.
