Steve is best-known for his lunchtime show but his career began rather differently. After spells working with reproduction furniture and contact lenses, Steve joined BBC Radio Bristol in 1985. During his time at the station Steve has been a reporter, presenter and producer on many different programmes. He has interviewed thousands of people - including politicians, stars of stage, screen and music - as well as assorted oddballs and sweet old pensioners. He has written, produced and hosted many quizzes and outside broadcasts - including his annual Saturday Show spectacular from the Rock Shop Newsagents in Weston-super-Mare. Steve has also performed many times as part of a comedy double act, including appearing at London's Comedy Store and supporting Eddie Izzard. He has also worked on comedy projects with his friend - the controversial satirist Chris Morris. A keen artist, Steve has exhibited paintings and prints locally and in London. Birdwatcher and nature-lover Steve regularly travels around England, Scotland, Ireland and Europe to seek out interesting species. You can hear Steve on-air each weekday from midday. |
