Brian Tinnion will make a fine manager, once he has learned his trade. City fans should be helping him develop through support not a baptism of fire. Get behind the Tinman, he'll take us up, in less time and using less money than Wilson had.

I feel with every new job, you have to give someone a slight break, he done well last season! look at the rovers they could have done alot better but they havent! Still in division 3 for how long now? i have every confidance in Tinman we will do well this season!

I think you were a good player for bristolcity hope you be a good manager
Ryan
i think that he should of been put assistant manager because the standard of football has not been good enough. If he was assistant manager hecould learn more then become a great manager.

Brian Tinnion would make a good manager if he was given some one better than Keith Millen to back him up on match day as all millen does is hold up the dug out.

Its easy. Tinnion thinks he is getting in the players which will get us up..
If we do not go up then it will be down to Tinnion therefore the north home land will be calling his name, as the south will not.
But lets give him this coming season. Sink or swim time, the question can Tinnion swim.

Would City stay up if they had been promoted through the play-offs this season? - I doubt it! Even though I wasn't sure about Brian's appointment last year, I do think a manager just missing out in his first ever season is a good result. However I expect better next season, with building a squad to take the club into the Championship the following year to stay up there. Manager and Board must deliver this to justify the change made last year.

After the defeat at Cardiff, Tinnion had lots of reorganising to do and due to his inexperience it made it even harder. At the end of the season i think the players eccepted we wouldn't go up, so for this pre season they will already be determined to do better. This will mean Tinman won't have to concentrate on lifting palyers because they will be up for it. He has alreasy brought in three new players this term (Smith, Russel and Heywood) and Marcus Stewart will sign soon. This gives us balance on the left with Smith, experience in the middle with Russel, a ball winning centre half and an experienced striker. All in all a good side and long as we keep Lita we should be going up. Tinnion will succeed this SEASON.

This season just isn't good enough. Anyone else would be out the door, Tinman gets a squeeze because of his loyalty as a player. if we're not comfortably top 6 by Xmas, then he's out.

Strikers win matches, defences win championships. Brian needs to have that at the front of his mind throughout pre-season. We lost our defensive prowess last season and that is why we didn't really challenge.
I genuinely have no clear idea where City are going.
Brian was guilty of 'throwing the baby out with the bath water' at the beginning of last season by making changes to personnel, style and formation which were not needed. City became ragged too early in games, in contrast to the previous season when numerous wins were gained in the closing stages - a clear sign of organisation and belief.
On the plus side, there are some promising youngsters being given a chance. However, I remain to be convinced that they are as good as Phillips, Hill, Coles, Doherty and Aaron Brown. We will also need decent experienced players alongside them in the same way that West Ham have the likes of Sheringham and Chris Powell next to their promising youngsters
It will be excellent to get Marcus Stewart but what we really need is a centre half and centre midfielder of similar quality.

tinnion is too inexperienced and putting Millen alongside is just a case of the blind leading the blind - HOPELESS!

Last season City miss out on promotion by losing one game and sack the manager. This season they don't even get into contention for promotion and the manager keeps his job. Go figure.

course he can get us promoted, he's top banana!

Like many I had reservations about such an inexperienced manager at the helm of a relatively large club. However, his 'hardline' stance on discipline, and willingness to gamble (successfully!) on Leroy Lita, has impressed me, and I'm certainly happy for 'Tins' to get another shot. If we can capture Marcus Stewart, then all the better. I'm optimistic at City's chances (again!!!)
