Flyer for the November trance night by Flatspin

Bristol gets a new regular night of trance

By Liz Lewis
The Flatspin crew brings a new pure trance night to the city....Friday nights will never be the same, check it.

"Flatspin is about fun! … clubbing in our view has become all too serious of late,"  Si Tizzard told the clubbing pages.

"We don’t hold events, we hold parties & the main aim is to make sure everyone has a wicked time. We are passionate about music and carefully choose our DJ’s to make sure the dance floor is always pumping full of happy smiling faces – our core music is uplifting, spine tingling trance – hands in air dancing around like a loon stuff!

"Bristol is lacking a decent trance night of late with many clubs pursuing the harder sound or sticking firmly in the house or urban territory."

And the Flatspin lads have lofty ambitions of becoming the leading trance night in the South West – we say go get 'em we like your style.

A few names to fill up your Friday diaries include :-

Andy Bagguely & Genix (19 November) - these two boys are the rising stars of 2004. Andy is resident at superclub Passion (in Coalville) with guest DJ slots across the UK and Europe.

Together with Genix, they run Trance Revolution Recordings which has been creating some serious in-roads into the scene since launching just over six months ago. Genix is an accomplished producer at the tender age of 19 - his latest track "Re-Connected" has received rave reviews such as this one :-

"The forth release from UK based label Trance Revolution Recordings is a stomping riffy peak time trancer. "Genix – Reconnected" is the follow up to last year’s summer hit "Solar Planet". Building on all the elements that made it a smash hit, Genix returns with his second release to do some serious damage on dancefloors all over the globe.

"With support from Rank 1, Jon O’Bir, Matt Hardwick, DJ Precision, Les Hemstock, Andy Bagguley, Marc West, and being spun on BBC Radio 1 show dance anthems hosted by Dave Pearce, this is already a massive hit. It comes on a thunderous piece of plastic containing a thrilling Original mix and a remix from "Factoria", who’s "A Legends Legacy" is still huge in clubland at the moment.

"The Original mix is by far one of Genix’s best production to date, with a typical style we have come accustomed to. Genix delivers a spine chilling creation in a market that is stuffed to the crust with average tunes. This is by far one that sticks out a mile, with a great vibe leading and building up to the main breakdown around the two-minute mark. A nice melodic atmospheric chill bounces across the room, with the main melody creeping up on you. By the time it hits, euphoric angels have landed and its spine tingling shivering time. This is a truly euphoric single, which is destined for great things, coming from a label that is progressing rapidly and is continuing to stomp its authority on the world of Trance.
A Big thumbs up on this one.
