From the peaks to the plains

Derbyshire County Council manages a wonderful variety of countryside sites across the county. There’s something for everyone from large country parks to local nature reserves, woodlands, wetlands, canals and reservoirs. We have a huge network of footpaths, greenways and trails which help people to get out and about.

One of the most stunning parts of the country, the county’s landscapes run from the open moors of the Peak District to the flat floodplains of South Derbyshire. We’re delighted to be part of Breathing Places Communities. Together we will give local people more opportunities to connect with nature and wildlife on their doorsteps.
