The beautiful willow lined River Cam and surrounding commons with grazing cattle offer Cambridge visitors and residents a unique rural environment right in the heart of the City. Cambridge is committed to working in partnership to protect, enhance and increase valuable wildlife habitats and accessible greenspaces throughout the City. This year we celebrate the 800th anniversary of the university and the 20th anniversary of the annual City Environment Festival. We plan to also celebrate the designation of three new Local Nature Reserves to benefit local wildlife and people.
