Welcome to the BBC branding microsite. This is where you have access to all our branding tools, including logos, brand guidelines, clips, soundbites, stills, artwork files and more.
Before you get to grips with these tools, it's a good
idea to understand the whole story about the BBC brand. Otherwise, feel
free to explore this section, which explains the relationship between
the BBC master brand and the various BBC sub-brands.
The use of all BBC branding tools is defined by
the nature of the project you're working on. These fall into three broad
categories:
BBC public service
This refers to projects either by or for BBC public services and includes
TV channels, radio stations and the BBC website. For example, you might
need a logo and guidelines for a BBC Four poster or for the development
of a micro-site within bbc.co.uk
BBC commercial
This refers to projects either by or for commercial companies that
license content from the BBC. These kinds of projects typically involve
creating, promoting and selling products or services that use BBC brands.
For example, you might be designing a DVD cover for 'Only Fools and Horses'
or you might be a platform operator promoting the latest cable TV price
deals.
Third party
This refers to companies and organizations outside the BBC, including
suppliers. They tend to work on projects which have no BBC involvement,
but want to use BBC brand assets. For example, you might be working for
a production company and need a picture of Broadcasting House. Or else,
you might be writing an article on a BBC presenter and would like to illustrate
it with the relevant BBC TV channel logo.
