More info:
This walk has been planned in conjunction with the Huddersfield Geology Group because its recently exposed cliffs make the park such a good place to understand the local landscape, particularly the Carboniferous sandstones and you might just possibly find fossilised plants. The 'wild' part of the park provides a wide variety of habitats including rock face, woodland, pond as well as a disused railway and there is a wide variety of trees, woodland plants and birds.

Getting there:
By bus:
Catch the 387 service (hourly) from Huddersfield Bus Station to the park entrance in Beaumont Park Road (start point). Check the timetable for further details: tel: 0113 245 7676 or click here for online.
Information: The buses on this route may not be wheelchair friendly but people unable to use the service bus should contact West Yorkshire Metro for advice about using Access buses: tel: 0113 348 1900.
By car: Drive to start point (see map) where there is street parking.
Walk conditions
The path down to the cliff walks is both wheelchair and pushchair friendly but wheelchair-users may require assistance, especially when returning to the start of the walk. Paths can be slippy in bad weather and anyone extending the walk beyond the cliff paths should take care because there are broken steps and balustrades.
