 | | Prisoners: Re-Released! |
Prisoners formed in 1977 in Huddersfield at the height of the UK Punk and New Wave movement. During the early days, the band enjoyed success selling many copies of the original album, Release. Prisoners played with many top name acts such as, The Damned, Adam and the Ants, Penetration, The Fall, Generation X and Crass. In 2005, a local newspaper in Huddersfield ran an article with a picture from 1977 posing the question, "Does anyone remember these guys?" After several responses to the newspaper press office, a follow-up article was written, prompting a possible reunion. Several weeks of investigation later, the original members were located around the world and, eventually, a reunion was scheduled. January 2006 was the initial meeting and between January and June 2006, the new album, entitled "Re-Released" was recorded.
