Presenter Caroline Nolan and archaeologist Dr Brian Williams examine a prehistoric tomb dating from 5000 years ago.

The burial site is marked by a wedge-shaped cairn which was a type of stone monument used by our stone age ancestors to mark out territory.

When the burial site was excavated in 1952, the bones of 34 people were uncovered as well as a selection of flint tools, pottery and food remains.

This was the Neolithic, or new stone age period, and many stone monuments built by those living at the time are in evidence throughout Ireland.
