Hottest Record - My Chemical Romance - Boy Division

Zane Lowe | 20:15 UK time, Monday, 29 October 2012

So whilst most bands are struggling over albums and drawing out releases, MCR are recording and then shelving albums because they want to try something different...

Conventional Weapons is exactly that, a bunch of songs that are more straight ahead and directly follow a linear timeline from their earlier stuff before they decided to invest in bleak visions of the future, dance beats and electronica... They are going to be releasing the 'album' two songs at a time over the next four months...

The first two out of the gate are immediate, punchy and rocking and almost make Danger Days feel like a slight diversion. The rest remains to be seen I guess. Sure the MCArmy, the Killjoys and the diehards are hanging on every titbit posted online about their favourite band, but by and large, a ton of people like to absorb their music in digestible bites. No time to sit and stair at an album sleeve reading the liner notes, hells no, gimme two songs straight up, every month for the next four months.
