Hottest Record - Manic Street Preachers - Peeled Apples

Fighting talk from one of the UK's most established bands, peeled apples is album opener from an excitably heavy record that's features lyrics entirely penned by Richy and is entirely produced by Albini.
They didn't need to come out this rough especially after the success of the last album but the fact that they have makes them unmistakable Manic Street Preachers.

I tuned in tonight just to listen to this and i think "wow" were the words used. I cranked the volume up to max as soon as i heard the bass at the start. It reminded me very much of Nirvana, obviously an influence Steve Albini has brought in. I'm definitely going to be buying the album if the songs sound like this.

Magnificent. Wonderfully big production. Journal For Plague Lovers is much more than your average rock record - it's an event. No singles. Richey's words. Peeled Apples sounds better than the last three Manics albums already...

A brilliant return from the boys.
Very Holly Bibble.

This sounds more like Gold Against The Soul than The Holy Bible, closer to Bleach than In Utero. Neither of these things are bad to me. All you ask for from the Manics is that it rocks, and they've answered the call.
