Here's the World Have Your Say broadcast on BBC World News on 17 June 2011 if you missed it.

Ros spoke to people around the world about the big questions surrounding former head of the IMF Dominique Strauss-Kahn's court case in New York. Towards the end of the programme we hear the news that Mr Strauss Kahn was released from house arrest in New York, where he's been facing allegations of attempting to rape a hotel maid.

DSK has already been judged by the press and has been found guilty! Of course the indelible stains on his clothing links him to the chamber-maid whatever her past. Trying to restore his credibility in time for him to stand in the French elections will be a very steep hill for him to climb even if he is exonerated in July. Still he is an intelligent man and could give advice in an unofficial capacity on financial matters.

  • Comment number 2.

as a psychoanalyst I sincerely hope the maid in question has had an interview with a psychiatrist with experience of rape and post traumatic stress disorders

  • Comment number 3.

I feel so desperately sorry for that chambermaid. Maybe she did lie about her asylum status. I think, given her circumstances, that I would have lied too if it meant that I could secure a good job in a safe country.

Is this really the basis of this man's defence?

  • Comment number 4.

Well as human beings we all make mistakes in whatever position and situation we are in. If a man likle Dominic Strauss has indulged in any kind of sexual activity and has commited a crime if can be proven then he must pay for a sin. However a media barrage is not helpful to anyone and it may serve the purpose of his detractors eventually a crime is a crime if commited.

a more suttle approach would have been better instead of a media barrage.

We cannot blame Mr.Kaun. He is part and parcel of American culture where homosexuality is like marital affair.

  • Comment number 6.

Given the evidence against Dominic, today it is clear that justice has been trampled by power and money. The poor migrant worker should however, take consolation in the fact that she has exposed the beast behaviour of this wicked man. Most importantly, the poor African lady has become the voice of the voiceless French women who have endured serious sexual abuses at the hands of the rich and powerful in their nation. It is victory for Africa and this case has demonstrated that African women respect their own dignity and would fight for justice. Up until now, the French women never knew they were victims of abuse so they needed an African courageous woman to expose the abuse they go through everyday. What has lack of proper documentation to do with having been abused. It can never be used as evidence in this case. I hope the so called civilised of this world will realise that they have a long way to go in order for them to live fully like human.

  • Comment number 7.

It is now crystal clear that Mr.Kaun is like all other lust people just went to a whore to alleviate his desire. Dubbing it as a rape case of a chaste woman is absurd. She herself is proved to devote balance time of here job to make good earning by presenting herself to those who are ready to give some money. Kaun also used this chance .That is all. It is part of American culture and we can't say it is wrong by American Law. Consent sex is allowed in that country.Since you are in America.
