Why can't anyone buy London Olympics shirts or gift articles yet?
There are so many gift shops aorund London especially on Oxford Circus that still don't carry it even though they have every other imaginable item that signifies London!!

    @ Chintan

I think they are embarrassed by the LOGO design!

    @ WHYS

Could you give me a better description of why this is called an estate? Initially I thought you were talking about a Mansion or small Castle, but it sounds more like a housing project!

Would it be fair to say that the youth of England have a sense of entitlement just like our youth here?

Ah, the Olympics...money borrowed from banks to make the well connected have contracts for questional services. Displacement of the poor and upgrading properties for the wealthy. Just what is needed in a bad economy. At this point, what is a little more national debt...but I am sure they will produce a set of books showing that it is all worth it. It is important to make the unemployed feel good about their country. But the hungry usually find it is hard to eat national pride. The banks will be the primary sponsors, as they are the only ones with money.

My response having been on the show - Guess what the logo owners are being very protective of their merchandising - I suspect they are so concerned about anyone breaching the copyright ramparts that they've forgotten they might actually want to start selling some product.

Estates whether ye olde private or housing project new - tend to have been designed with at least one thing in common - the housing of numbers of impoversihed poor folk to service the needs of the better orf!

And yes Lincoln I suspect rather like your youth ours have been brought up with a sense of entitlement so I guess that'll be us older folk to blame.

And with all that said yes Victoria the people are terrific - and not just because I happened to be on the show.

And lets hope that there will be some bread crumbs falling off the table for those nearby, yeah there will be some excitement for at least some of the younger people - hopefully more than you and I suspect may be the case. Ultimately we've got it whatever the surrounding spin so we should try and make the most of it.
