Hyderabad, Hyderabad where for art thou Hyderabad?

Richard Bowen | 09:05 UK time, Monday, 5 February 2007

Well, I’m just about to find out as I prepare to leave the hotel for the first time since my arrival on Sunday. It’s been a crazy little journey, filled with long queues, delayed planes and non-arriving taxis, but I finally made it to the IT capital of India and can’t wait to have a look around.

If you’re not sure what we’re doing in India, fear not...

...read this blog post and all will become clear. Don’t forget to read the comments as well, some really great conversations going on there.

Although I can’t tell you much about my impression of this city yet (because I haven't been anywhere) I can tell you about the show that’s coming from here on Wednesday and how I’m getting on. Having spent much of Sunday on the phone speaking to local Hyderabadis interested in voicing their opinions, it looks like there will be plenty of people at our venue, The Cyber Towers. Nevertheless the nerves are always there until people actually start arriving on the night.

I know this is a really short post, but by tomorrow I’m sure I’ll have loads more to tell you. So, off I go to check ISDN’s, food arrangements and the state of the venue.

By the way, you know us WHYSers love your recommendations so if you’re in Hyderabad, or have been here let me know where to visit and, most importantly, where to get some nice food. Also, If you want to come along to Wednesday’s show send me an email with your name and phone number and I’ll be in touch.

Bye for now. Rich
