Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day

Richard Bowen | 11:16 UK time, Thursday, 7 September 2006

star_trek.jpgMorning globe trotting bloggers. I hope today will bring you joys the likes of which you have never experienced before. I've already had a small gem today.
After believing that i'd missed the 40th anniversary of Star Trek and therefore missed the opportunity to get the exploits of Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise onto WHYS, i find out that that the anniversary is actually tomorrow. And like a dejected Willy Fogg who'd thought he was a day late in his quest to make it around the world in 80 days, i too realised that i'd got an extra day to convince the team that we should celebrate this most moments occasion. If i succeed you'll hear about it tomorrow.

Right, onto today...

What do you make of this? Was the cabinet right to walk out?

The Artist Jill Greenberg made children cry for some of her portraits. Is this art or child abuse? The photos are here on her website, tell us what you think? This story has been in the public domain for a couple of weeks but if we can get Jill to speak to you we may just do this one.

Marion Jones has been cleared of doping offences after her second drugs test came back negative. Does this mean there's light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel for Athletics?

The Austrian girl - Natasha Kampusch - held captive for 8 years gave her first TV interview last night and is reported to be getting close to €1m for it. Has the world's media been caught up in it's own self made circus? And now the interview is done is it time she's left alone?

Israel says it's to lift it's blockade of Lebanon at 1500 GMT. Will the Lebanese now be able to rebuild their much maligned economy.
