On the programme - 2 February 2009
We know from your emails that many people don't trust banks and are worried about where they're putting their money. So we spoke to Eric Leenders from the British Banker Association to get his thoughts on the banking system.
Watch the clip to see why Eric thinks we shouldn't be worried about how banks are looking after our money.
Coming up on the programme
We'll be exposing the clampers who ignore the rules and reveal even more problems with debt recovery and peoples' water meters.
And we'll look at the high-street businesses that are still booming - the supermarkets. We want to know which one you shop at and why. Take part in the Watchdog supermarket vote and tell us which one you think offers the best price, quality and choice.

With regard to the stories from debt companies, there is no need for anyone to be too worried if the debt in question was incurred more than six years ago. The legal device of statute barred applies.

I had a debt collection agency chase me for a debt that is older than 6 years. I had forgotten about the debt and agreed to start making payments, but questioned why it had taken so long to ask for money (didn't get an answer to that though). Can the company insist on payments being made? Can I cancel the payemnt agreement if 1 or 2 payments have been made?

I'm looking forward to supermarkets taking their customer service seriously. Last week at Wakefield Sainsburys cafe shut far earlier than advertised. Customer service did little more than smile blankly and say 'it was unfortunate and they would endeavour to do better in the future'. I wouldn't mind, but it is a frequent occurence there.
I was told it wasn't even possible to buy a cold sandwich that was on display because it's a different computer system.
When you have two toddlers under 2 and you are doing a weekly shop alone, such changes are incredibly annoying. Hard on the two anklebiters, but also on all the other shoppers that have to endure the extremely disgruntled moans of tiredness and hunger. It is getting so that if it is anywhere near their meal time I daren't risk Sainsburys and head towards the more reliable and family friendly Asda.
