Flint artist Tony Roberts, whose work reuses discarded books and brochures, is exhibiting his show, Salvage [March 1-29], at Flint Library as part of Flintshire Artsfest 2008.

A detail of Confinement, by Tony Roberts

Tony says this style came about after observing how companies discard printed material as if not valuing the research and work put into producing them.

All books used in his projects have been, in their life, the "vision and inspiration of someone", says Tony who gives them a "new dimension in a different format", where people can explore their previous purpose and meaning.
