Could England train at Racecourse?
Just checking you saw the story by Mark Currie [Daily Post newspaper's Wrexham FC correspondent] who hints that the England football sqaud could come to Wrexham to train ahead of a vital European Championship match against Russia in October.
Why, you may ask? Well, England’s Group E qualifier at the 84,000 capacity Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow will be played on an artificial pitch identical to that which was recently installed at Wrexham’s Colliers Park training complex.
So, thinking ahead, Wrexham director Geoff Moss tells Currie he contacted England assistant Terry Venables to offer the squad an opportunity to train on the surface before travelling to Moscow.
It would be great to see the squad back here. I seem to remember they trained in Wrexham about five years ago. Anyone else remember how that came about?
