Deeside's winning art entry revealed
The winning entry in the competition to design a Lottery funded artwork for Deeside has been revealed today as 'A Postcard to Wales' by architects Tonkin Liu, as reported on www.landmarks.org. You've been telling us what you think of the plan, now let us know what you think of the chosen design.

What a complete waste of money, the beautiful view you already see of the Clwydian mountains will be spoilt by a big billboard, the money should be used on something more worthy not rubbish.
I am resident of Deeside. I truly cannot believe this.
Who wants to be greeted by a giant looming billboard?
I must say however, that none of the ideas put forward were even mildly good!
Perhaps of they'd had the local school children design the artwork we would have been much better off!
There's not a lot to add to these 2 comments. Except to hope that some of the decent quality grafitti we see would soon make a welcome addition to the so-called art. Why are useful and elegant structures such as wind turbines refused planning permission if a few vocal people object? No one seems to make similar representations about this massively visual intrusion, which has no use.
I have set up a petition at Downing Street please will you join in to oppose this awful so called art???

This idea is totally useless and will make a laughing stock of Wales. The money would be better spent on something worthwhile eg, local hospitals etc. The idea should be scrapped, there are much more beautiful sights to see along the a55. The view as you drive down the Rhuallt hill for example is spectacular. The open countryside along the A55 will surely remind people that they are in God's own country.
A grotesque insult to my country and a total waste of money.
Where is the Planning Authority, has it been requested to comment?
What about road safety?
Has the Assembly been consulted?
What are the views of our Asasembly Members and Members of Parliament.
Why no formal notices or public enquiry?
Forget it
I am totally opposed to the idea of a billboard on entry into Wales. The countryside needs no man made intervention such as the one proposed.
