Dick Whittington at Rhyl Pavilion was one of the best pantos in Britain, according to a poll on timesonline.co.uk.

The show, starring Corrie's Reg Holdsworth, aka Ken Morley, as the smart boy who decided to become a 'medieval Ken Livingstone', was voted best in Wales and third in the UK.

Personally, I preferred Stephanie Beacham as the wicked queen in her camp and comic panto debut at Guildford - we were visiting family - where she appeared in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
