The last surviving person to serve as a member of staff to the Yorke family at Erddig Hall has died. Harriot Ena May Davies, who died last week at the age of 100, served as a housemaid between 1925 to 1930, according to which reprints an earlier interview with Harriot.

A big part of the surviving history at Erddig is connected with the staff, including poetry and paintings of them - and the high regard in which they were held.

The house was eventually given to the care of the National Trust in the 1970s by the last Squire, Philip Yorke.
