Machynlleth Comedy Festival founder Henry Widdicombe from Powys said of the event: "It's amazing how many great comics have signed up for the festival in its inaugural year.

"I think the idea of holding a festival in Machynlleth has really struck a chord with a lot of people".

The festival runs from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 April. Visit the festival website for a full line-up of confirmed acts, and read more about the festival on our BBC Local Mid Wales site.
