    We've had just about everything thrown at us this week apart from snow - double rainbows,funnel clouds, strong winds, sunshine, hail, thunder and some dramatic lightning.

    Porthmadog was the warmest place in Wales yesterday and today, along with Eglwyswen in Pembrokeshire, the temperature reached 25°C. Not a record for September but eight degrees above average.

    In my last post I mentioned the uncertainty and difficulty in predicting the track that ex-hurricane Bertha would take over the weekend. We weren't 100% sure even on Friday but in the end Bertha did affect Wales, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.

    This summer so far has been a little bit mixed. We've had some rain, heavy showers and a few thunderstorms but we've also had a fair amount of dry weather, plenty of sunshine and some high temperatures as well - exceeding 29°C in Porthmadog.

    Porthmadog in Gwynedd recorded 29°C three days in a row last week but we've seen the last of the hot and humid weather for a while. Temperatures this week will be closer to the seasonal average or above, warmest in the southeast and it will feel fresher and less humid than recently and more comfortable...
