    Acclaimed Welsh novelist Dick Francis CBE has died at his Caribbean home in Grand Cayman at the age of 89.

    Francis was born in Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire in 1920. He found fame initially as a jockey, famously riding the Queen Mother's horse, Devon Loch, in the 1956 Grand National.

    Tributes have been paid to journalist, film writer and archivist Dave Berry, who has died in hospital in Cardiff.

    Mr Berry, 66, wrote Wales And Cinema: The First Hundred Years and helped rediscover rare Welsh film, including a life story of David Lloyd George.
